I am delighted to share a Sneak Peek of a project I have been working on for many months in collaboration with the Facebook Group-Science of Reading-What I Should Have Learned In College. I volunteer as a Moderator of this group comprised of over 214,000+ educators, parents, and other concerned citizens.
I have created a video to help children/students, parents, caregivers, and teachers learn how the brain learns to read and spell!
Why have I created this video you ask?
Children have a right and deserve to know how the brain learns to translate squiggles and lines on a page into thoughts and ideas which convey meaning.

While Dehaene and Wolf are my heroes, Jeri has a lot to teach us about very early literacy. Notice her turning the pages and responding to the rhythm of oral language at age 1!
